From template to the moment it settles into place
A countertop is cut for one room and one room only. The whole result rests on the template, so that is where the quiet, patient part of our attention goes.
- In-home measure and plan. We study the cabinets, confirm the bases sit level, and talk through seams, overhangs, and the edge profile together. If anything needs to be made flat before stone arrives, we raise it then, while it is still easy to address.
- Digital templating. Once the old counter has come out, or the cabinets are set, we template the surfaces themselves rather than working from a remembered sketch. Sink, faucet, and cooktop positions are located with precision.
- Slab layout. With natural stone and veined quartz, we lay out the cut so the pattern moves the way you hoped and any seam falls in the most forgiving spot.
- Fabrication. The slab is cut, the chosen edge profile is shaped, and openings for sinks and cooktops are made to match the template.
- Set and seam. We bring the counter in level, bond and colour-match the seams, secure undermount sinks, and seal natural stone where it calls for it. Then we tidy the space and walk the finished room with you.
We sequence the order so plumbing and electrical fall into step — disconnected before removal, reconnected once the new top has settled — so you are never living around a stranded sink for days on end.

Do you look after the sink and plumbing as well?+
We arrange the sequence so the plumbing is disconnected before the old counter leaves and reconnected once the new one has settled, and we cut and support the opening for your chosen undermount, drop-in, or apron sink. That keeps the whole swap tidy and spares you from living without a working sink any longer than you have to.
Is granite a lot of work to keep up?+
Rather less than its reputation suggests. Granite is sealed when it goes in and resealed on a gentle schedule that depends on the stone and how hard the kitchen works it. From day to day it asks only for a wipe with mild soap and water. We will spell out exactly what your particular slab wants, so nothing catches you off guard once we have gone.
Can you bring a waterfall edge to my island?+
Yes. A mitred waterfall edge carries the stone down the side of the island so it reads as one continuous, uninterrupted piece. It looks its loveliest in quartz and porcelain, where the pattern can be matched cleanly around the mitre.
